Brittle Prickly Pear Cactus with Synthetic Padparadscha Pendant

The brittle prickly pear is a small variety of cactus has been used by Native Americans as both a food source and a remedy for treating stomach pains, cuts and bruises, and even sunburns. Unlike its cousin the prickly pear, the brittle prickly pear’s fruit is inedible and its stems detach very easily. Occasionally a showy yellow flower will bloom, but some plants don’t bloom at all. A rare sight, indeed!
