- - The Chi Rho, also known as the Christogram, is a monogram of Jesus’s name. It combines the two Greek letters X and P are found at the beginning of Χριστῷ which translates to “Jesus” or “Christ” in English. Its earliest use was by the Roman Emperor Constantine in the early 300s AD as part of a military standard. The additional Greek letters A and Ω, the first and last letters in the alphabet, additionally symbolize Christ as being the Beginning (A) and the End (Ω).
