- - A single bee only makes around 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in their entire lives, and an ounce of honey would be enough fuel for one to fly around the world. In addition to being an antimicrobial superfood packed with vitamins and minerals, it can also keep well for an extraordinarily long time. We use it on sweet treats, mixed with a hot cup of tea, and to soothe sore throats, but this delicious confection wouldn’t be possible without the help of millions of honeybees! Honeybees are the only insects to produce food for humans, and honey farms exist all around the globe. As a vital pollinator for all the plants on Earth, they truly are indispensable.
