Some fun facts about fungi are they are actually genetically closer to humans than they are plants, and mushrooms are actually the fruiting bodies of the main fungus organism that lives underground! Since 2011, more than 50 types of mushrooms were found to be able to digest and break down different types of plastics, and many varieties are also used to make natural dyes.
