- - Yahweh, (Jehovah) or sometimes seen as “YHWH”, was the name of God as revealed to Moses in the book of Exodus. A name is a powerful thing, and this was more widely understood in ancient times than it is now, but it is still true, nonetheless. A name carries the identity of the person named. It is who they are. The Name actually means “The Becoming One” and He becomes to you whatever your need may be at the moment.
- - By Jewish tradition this name is too holy to pronounce or write, therefore they just wrote four letters without any vowels: YHWH. The meaning of Therefore scholars today don’t know for sure if the original pronunciation was Yahweh or Jehovah.
In Proverbs 18:10, Solomon wrote that “the name of the LORD (YAHWEH) is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
